A tree-mendous year ahead

February 10, 2026

The Toodyay Naturalists’ Club will commence its program for 2026 on Saturday, February 21, with a ‘member’s night’.

The format will be bringing along three of your favourite natural history photos for display and discussion.

This will also be a chance for members to catch up on everyone’s news after the break.

An exciting program has been laid out for this year with various keynote speakers and outings to look forward to.

The theme for the year will be the protection of the Julimar Forest.

Appropriately, on March 7, we will conduct a Clean Up Australia Day event with a litter pick-up and rubbish removal excursion in Julimar Forest.

Sadly, the high use of this conservation area for off-road vehicles and illegal camping has seen increasing littering and dumping.

Later in the month, Sean Hefferon, former editor of The Toodyay Herald, will speak to members about the Toodyay Community Fund, a project he is spearheading that promises exciting benefits for our town.

Members extend their sympathy and condolences to Mel Adams, the secretary of our subgroup, the Julimar Conservation and Forest Alliance (JCAFA), for her recent loss.
